The 2021 Jeep Wrangler is an iconic SUV with incredible off-road capability, combining its classic design with modern safety systems and technology. The 2021 Land Rover Defender, on the other hand, also offers off-road capabilities with controlled on-road manners. It has a legendary history as an off-roader, and the new 2021 version continues with that trend while incorporating modern-day features, comfort, and technology.

Available Trims Comparison

The Jeep Wrangler has a plug-in hybrid version that combines a four-cylinder turbocharged engine with hybrid elements to produce 375 horsepower. It has four trim levels, including Sport, Sport S, Sahara, and Rubicon. The Sport trim has standard fog lights, underbody skid plates, and the Sunrider folding soft-top. The Sport S trim comes with power windows and door locks, power heated side mirrors, alloy wheels, air conditioning, and automatic headlights. Technology Features Comparison

Jeep has an optional Uconnect infotainment system with a user-friendly 8.4-inch touchscreen. Other optional features include Apple CarPlay connectivity and Android Auto connectivity.

On the other hand, Land Rover has a 10-inch screen, Wi-Fi hotspot, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and navigation. The new Pivi Pro interface is a bit slow in responding to inputs. Standard features include an MP3 player, auxiliary audio input, AM/FM Stereo.

On-road & Off-road Driving Capabilities Comparison

The Jeep Wrangler has excellent driving dynamics and offers a comfortable drive in the city and on the highway. It remains an off-road vehicle, and its body-on-frame chassis and solid axes maximize off-road capability. The front and rear locking differentials and sway-bar disconnect features available in the Rubicon trim enable it to tackle any terrain with ease.

The Land Rover has air suspension that offers a soft and comfortable ride. On the highway, it is firm and more controlled to handle corners. The Land Rover's Terrain Response Program with seven modes enhances its ability to adapt to different conditions by calibrating traction control, throttle response, differential behaviour, and ride-height settings. It has impressive off-road capabilities and powers through seemingly impassable terrain.

Interior Comfort & Fuel Economy Comparison

The Jeep Wrangler has undergone many interior comfort improvements to allow a four or five seating capacity, depending on the model. The 4-door Jeep Wrangler has three seats in the back and offers more rear-seat legroom and cargo space behind the rear seats of 15.6 cubic feet. The interior is minimalistic with simple controls.

The Land Rover defender offers comfort, support, and the 4-door model with five-passenger capacity. The interior is simple, with a leather-wrapped steering wheel, dual-zone climate control, and semi-powered front seats. It has cargo space of 15.6 inches which can be expanded to 58.5 cubic feet with the rear seats folded.

In terms of fuel efficiency, Jeep's fuel economy with its standard V6 engine is 12.5L/100KM in the city and 10 L/100KM on the highway. The Defender has a fuel economy of 14.2L/100KM in the city and 11.1L/100KM on the highway.
